Sharing Circle came about because of the belief that “we are all in this together.” We are all human beings first – not Americans, not Chinese, not English, not wherever! Where you are born is an accident of birth and none of us can claim otherwise. We didn’t do anything to deserve being born into an affluent country.
The basic idea was to get people from all around the world to join in and share their lives, their likes, dislikes, hints, tips, points of view, beliefs etc. Just about anything really! In other words to help us all realize that we all have far more in common than you might think. And we hope that Sharing Circle will help people accomplish this and so lessen the irrational hatreds that abound in this world.
There is way too much of the “I’m alright Jack!” mentality in this world. And it saddens us to think that so many people care so little about their fellow man – just so long as they’re alright they just plain don’t give a damn. Do so many people really not care that a child dies every 10 seconds in the world?
